If you have a concern about the professional conduct, services, or ethical practices of a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia, you may contact the Virginia Board of Counseling, which regulates Licensed Professional Counselors in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Complaints may be submitted to the Virginia Department of Health Professions through its Enforcement Division.
Clients are encouraged to discuss concerns directly with their counselor when appropriate and when doing so feels safe and comfortable. However, clients are not required to contact the counselor before filing a complaint with the Virginia Board of Counseling.
Filing a complaint with the Board does not affect a client's right to discontinue counseling services or seek services from another provider.
